Alkaline Green Drinks – 3 More Things You Must Know Before Buying a Green Drink
This article continues with the remaining three items that you must know before purchasing a green drink.
Avoid Green Drinks That Contain Sugary Fruits
Some manufacturers of green drinks tend to include sugary fruits to improve the taste of the it. The problem with this practice is that these sugary fruits are acidic.
Your green drink should contain only alkaline ingredients. Including sugary fruits into the green powder will ultimately make it acidic.
Remember, it takes twenty parts of alkalinity to neutralize just one part of acid in the human body. So even just a small amount of sugary fruit can be enough to turn to your healthy alkaline green drink into an unhealthy acidic drink.
Avoid any green drinks that contain apples, bananas, peaches, grapes, oranges or other sugary fruits.
*Don’t Forget! Lemons and limes are alkaline and are considered to be a good ingredient.
Look For Green Drinks That Are Super Concentrated
Many green drink manufacturers will tell you to mix their powder with “8 to 12 ounces of water.” I recommend avoiding any green drinks that instruct you to mix the green powder with anything less than one liter of water.
The reason is twofold: First, one of the most important aspects to alkalizing your body is hydration. Eight to twelve ounces of water is simply not enough water as most people lose at least 2 liters of water everyday just through normal bodily functions.
Secondly, it tells me that their green powder is not concentrated enough and is too weak to have any significant effects on your body. A good green powder should be able to have a good flavor and consistency in a full liter of water.
Be sure to read the label and make sure that the manufacturer instructs you to mix the powder with at least one liter of water…otherwise find another one.
Avoid Green Drinks That Tell You To Mix The Powder With Fruit Juice
Quite simply, if a manufacturer tells you to mix the green powder with “your favorite juice”, that means they have no clue what they are talking about. If you were to mix the greens with orange, apple, grape, or any other sugary fruit juice, your drink would not be alkaline.
Remember, the whole point of drinking a green drink is to ingest alkaline fluids to neutralize acidity in your body. Green powder mixed with a sugary fruit juice will only give you an acidic drink and increase the acidity in your body.
