I saw this recipe on a Paula Dean episode, and I’ve loved it since. You smush up a bit of mint with some powdered sugar (about 1-2T, sweet to your liking though) and a splash of bourbon (Woodford Reserve is a quite fine brand). Then add a bunch of ice and pour over as much bourbon as you’d like to drink. Then top with more ice, a sprig of mint. If you use a straw to drink it, make sure you get it down into the bottom of the glass so you’re getting a little bit of the sweet mint taste along with the smooth bourbon. And make sure to inhale that wonderful mint smell too while sipping. It’s a treat.
