Theme of the week: vegetables
Seriously?!? Veggies in the middle of February in Wisconsin. That was the commence of my spring fever. I want to shoot images of generate from my backyard. I settled for garnishes. We set up a photo shoot for The Firewater Lounge on Friday night. We had just ample Pimm’s left and a cucumber in the fridge. I had to not submit this photograph until I had it on the Lounge’s site for a day or so.
Pimm’s has grow to be one of my favorites. Mules are yet another. This cocktail combines the two into a Cucumber Mule. Click more than to the Lounge web site for the recipe.
The glass is a vintage locate from Mt. Horeb. Forgive me, I will not bear in mind which of the shops we identified them in. We have a pair, they are the closest we have found so far to correct tulip glasses.
My 1st green smoothie

I’ll admit, I’ve by no means attempted a green smoothie before. Primarily since I imagined I would have to have a large blender and also simply because I thought I would not like the taste. I was wrong on the two counts. My stick-blender operates just fine, and they are scrumptious!
For my 1st 1 I didn’t comply with a recipe, as an alternative I just utilized a number of factors in the fridge. Here is what went in:
Number of big handfuls of infant spinach, about 100g (I blended them in batches)
1 fresh date, chopped
juice of an orange
about 1/three cup of water (possibly far more)
This made almost a litre but it was so very good I drank the lot!
Update following eight weeks: I have a Vitamix now (adore, really like) and am nonetheless consuming a green smoothie each day. I mix up my greens (kale, Chinese broccoli etc), fruits and also add chlorella and spirulina powders. I am hooked!
